Brave - Nichole Nordeman
I Will Be Here - SCC
Fingerprints of God - SCC
When You Dream - Barenaked Ladies
Wonder - Natalie Merchant

I'm too tired to think of any creative additions right now, but there's short start to the list.

I've sung (poorly) "What a Wonderful World" to each of my kids many times through the years, usually holding them... I've noticed when it comes through the stereo at home on the ipod playlist, it makes my older kids gravitate to me for hugs... of course, SCC's "Cinderella" was a classic for daughters before his personal tragedy, moreso since it... Emma can't hear that song without running to me.

Well, Logan and I had a dance party the other night when LCD Soundsystem's "Daft Punk is Playing at my House" came up on the ole iPod. That probably doesn't count.

I will report back here after I have done some more thorough interspection.

I know your going to think I am ridiculous because they are a punk band and the lead singer sounds like he has gravel in his throat but "Never Forget" by the Dropkick Murphys is one of the sweetest songs around. It's not terribly poetic but coming from a bunch of Boston/Irish Punk Rockers it really comes across as being from the heart. At least to me.

[verse]
In a child's eye there's something I hope someday you'll know
A friend's dedication, it's something to behold
A mother's smile, it makes everything alright
To a women's caring hand I'll be holding on tonight

[Chorus:]
When you got love and we got family
Keep 'em close and don't forget
To hold them right there in your heart
When you got love and family

(Whoa!, Whoa!)
(I'll remember you today)

To my father's stern direction
And the lessons that he taught
My grandmother's affection
And the faith I always fought

[Chorus:]
When you got love and we got family
Keep 'em close and don't forget
To hold them right there in your heart
When you got love and family
